AMALFI BATTERY

A WALK TO THE DISCOVERY OF HIDDEN ITINERARIES

How far could a 381/40 “projectile” weighing 875 kg reach? It seems incredible but it could reach up to about 20 kilometers! Each cannon could fire one shot per minute.

This is the range of the grenades fired from the armored revolving tower of the Amalfi Battery, which takes its name from a famous cruiser sunk by the enemy. The battery was originally part of a military village composed of 14 buildings. Come and discover it by following the routes of the First World War, immersed in the green coastline of Cavallino. You can explore it with bike itineraries, in suggestive walks between nature and history or reach it comfortably by car.
