The female image in war propaganda. The multiple messages entrusted to the faces of women.
On Sunday 20 August at 8.30 p.m. at Batteria San Marco there will be an interesting conference held IN ITALIAN LANGUAGE by Dr. Camilla Peruch.
During the Great War, the Italian woman found herself living within a patriarchal society that denied her the most basic rights. Despite this, she was one of the most photographed and drawn subjects, because the media of the time chose her as a vehicle for propaganda. She is entrusted with a multitude of tasks, described as a kind of compensation for not being at the front, and her face and body are used to glorify patriotic activism striving for victory.
